When should you contact us?
We begin preparing for the Christmas season in September, touching base with our existing customers and discussing with them what they would like for the coming season. This is the best time to make initial contact with us if you are a new customer, as our schedule fills up fairly quickly. However, if you don't call us this early, still call us later. We would love to talk with you about your lighting needs and may be able to fit you in the schedule.What kind of lights do we offer?
We work with both incandescent and LED lights, in all sizes and a wide variety of colors. The type of lights you choose will depend on the look you want and the number and size of bulbs you want in your display. What is the difference between incandescent and LED lights?
Incandescents are the traditional Christmas lights most people know. They give off a wonderful glow and come in main sizes of C-9 (large) and C-7 (smaller). LED bulbs use much less electricity, but don't give off as much light. They come in C-9, C-7 and a number of smaller sizes. There is a saying that you can see LED lights but can see by incandescents. We say if you have incandescents you'll love your lights, and if you have LEDs you'll love your light bill! Which lights are right for you will depend on how many lights you want and the size of your service panel (fuse box). We will be happy to discuss more pros and cons when we talk with you about your specific job.Will we hang lights you already own?
That depends. We do not hang lights that other companies have custom cut because we cannot be sure of the safety of these strands. However, if you own uncut strands you bought from another company or a store, we will be happy to hang them if we inspect them and feel they are safe. We cannot be responsible for these strands working properly and charge service calls to replace burned out bulbs or strands. We will be happy to come out and take a look at your lights to see if we will hang them. Please make sure strands are separated and untangled, as there is a charge if our installers have to do it.When do we install, remove and make service calls?
We begin installing in October, as early as you would like, and fill in the schedule according to our customers' individual requests. We begin taking lights down the first week of January, again acccrding to customers' requests. We like to have all lights down by the end of January. We do not install on Thanksgiving eve, Thanksgiving day or after December 15, or on days of rain, snow, ice or high winds. Service calls are made through December 23.
